Pajda Yang

Hello everyone, my name is Pajda (Pa-ja) :)) I got my name from my niam tais because she saw a flower outside after I was born and since I was born in July, she thought it would be fitting! <33 In hmong, it is spelled Paj Nras, which translate to flower blossom.

 

A few things about me: my hobbies/interests can relate to art & craft, journaling, painting my nails, and k-hiphop/Kpop. My all time favorite TV show is Jane the Virgin, my favorite movie is Meet the Robinsons, and my favorite song right now is Industry Baby by Lil Nas X :)) My music taste is all over the place, I like so many genres. During my free time, I like to watch Netflix or any video platforms mostly, bother my little sister (hehe) , and listen to podcasts-I'm open to any recommendations! And of course, my cute little nephews and nieces are always on mind too. <33 In terms of zodiacs, Astrology-I’m a cancer (sun), pisces (moon), scorpio (rising), Chinese- snake (2001), and my personality trait is ENFP-T.

 

A few people who motivate me are my grandmothers, sisters, and aunts! While my both of my moms are my heroes! <33 I am very family orientated as well. As for "idols" who are not family-related, it would be Rhianna, Bretman Rock, or Amanda Rach Lee. I love their confidence and authenticity as individuals. 

 

I’m born and raised in Saint Paul, Minnesota.Fun fact: I've been to 17 states in the United States so far- I want to travel to all 50! My biggest values as an individual is gratitude, empathy, and finding happiness in the little things in life. Relationships are important to me, I love bonding with people. I can talk with people forever, it's the extrovert in me.

I decided to join HMSA because I’ve been surrounded by a lot of Hmong representation for as long as I can remember, ever since I was young. Some examples are movies, music, and cultural/traditional practices. And although, there are ugly moments in our community that require more time and open-mindedness, I think it doesn’t hurt to showcase more of the beauty!

 

In terms of a life goal, I really wish and hope that my name becomes a blue-tone Pantone shade name ONE DAY or even for Crayola! :33 As for a short-term goal, I hope to be able to study abroad to Greece soon (May 2022).
