What's poppin', my name is Pasia (Paj Tshiab in Hmong and pronounced pah-chee-uh)! Though I was born and raised in the East side of St. Paul, I currently reside in Maplewood with my family and our two cats, Kumo and Calcifur :)
In my free time, I love geeking out to anime, manga, webtoons, K-dramas or listening to music while drawing. My all-time favorite series has to be Fullmetal Alchemist and my favorite group ever is SHINee! I listen to a lot of throwbacks and Korean and Japanese music, but a song I always recommend is Gymnopedie No. 1 by Erik Satie. I wake up to this piece, I eat to it, I think with it, I shower with it, I cry to it 👍 I also love reading and my favorite book is probably The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo. In terms of genres, I love Juvenile Fiction and Young Adult Fantasy. I'm also a big reader of shoujo lol.
I often find that the people I'm surrounded with are the ones who inspire me most. This includes my fellow board members, my friends, my siblings, and my mom.
One of my mottos is to do all the things I like because YOLO; it's a big reason why I joined HMSA. As an introverted homebody, applying for HMSA board was pretty scary, but I care a lot for my community and I wanted to not only give back, but to make a difference.
As for my goals/aspirations, I aim to be the cool, hot aunt who shows up late to the family gatherings already a little wine-drunk with the best stories to tell my nieces, nephews, and niblings 😉
Fun fact: including myself and Douache, there are two HMSA board members who have studied Japanese! ^0^
